چکیده

Abstract Background Methyl-CpG-binding domain (MBD) proteins play important roles in epigenetic gene regulation, and have diverse molecular, cellular, biological functions plants. MBD been functionally characterized various plant species, including Arabidopsis , wheat, maize, tomato. In rice, 17 sequences were bioinformatically predicted as putative proteins. However, very little is known regarding the function of rice. Results We explored expression patterns rice OsMBD family genes identified 13 OsMBDs with active tissues. further a class I protein OsMBD707, demonstrated that OsMBD707 constitutively expressed localized nucleus. Transgenic overexpressing displayed larger tiller angles reduced photoperiod sensitivity—delayed flowering under short day (SD) early long (LD). RNA-seq analysis revealed overexpression led to sensitivity changes regulator Ehd1-Hd3a / RFT1 pathway. Conclusion The results this study suggested plays growth development, should lead studies on growth, or other processes

The loss of methyl-CpG binding protein 1 leads to autism-like behavioral deficits.

Methyl-CpG binding proteins (MBDs) are central components of DNA methylation-mediated epigenetic gene regulation. Alterations of epigenetic pathways are known to be associated with several neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly autism. Our previous studies showed that the loss of Mbd1 led to reduced hippocampal neurogenesis and impaired learning in mice. However, whether MBD1 regulates the ...

Oxidative damage to methyl-CpG sequences inhibits the binding of the methyl-CpG binding domain (MBD) of methyl-CpG binding protein 2 (MeCP2).

Cytosine methylation in CpG dinucleotides is believed to be important in gene regulation, and is generally associated with reduced levels of transcription. Methylation-mediated gene silencing involves a series of DNA-protein and protein-protein interactions that begins with the binding of methyl-CpG binding proteins (MBPs) followed by the recruitment of histone-modifying enzymes that together p...

Angelman syndrome phenotype associated with mutations in MECP2, a gene encoding a methyl CpG binding protein.

Angelman syndrome (AS) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterised by severe mental retardation, absent speech, ataxia, sociable affect, and dysmorphic facial features. Eighty five percent of patients with AS have an identifiable genetic abnormality of chromosome 15q11-13. Mutations within the X linked MECP2 gene have been identified in patients with Rett syndrome (RTT), a neurodevelopmental...

Engineering a high-affinity methyl-CpG-binding protein

Core members of the MBD protein family (MeCP2, MBD1, MBD2 and MBD4) share a methyl-CpG-binding domain that has a specific affinity for methylated CpG sites in double-stranded DNA. By multimerizing the MDB domain of Mbd1, we engineered a poly-MBD protein that displays methyl-CpG-specific binding in vitro with a dissociation constant that is >50-fold higher than that of a monomeric MBD. Poly-MBD ...
